Frequently Asked Questions

What types of counseling do you offer?

I specialize in individual counseling for women and faith-based premarital counseling for couples. I also work with young adults, those in vocational ministry, and individuals navigating life transitions.

Do you offer Christian counseling?

Yes. While I see clients from all backgrounds, I offer Christian-based counseling for those who are seeking to bring their faith and spirituality into the process.

What can I expect in a counseling session?

Sessions are warm, client-centered, and collaborative. After our intake call, we will have our first session where we can dive a little deeper and come up with a direction of where we want to go. If you are doing a premarital package, this includes 6 hours of counseling and dives into your Prepare/Enrich assessment results. I love to give helpful, practical tools if that is something that clients are looking for.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

I am licensed to provide services for clients located anywhere in the state of Texas and I am currently seeing clients virtually and in person.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes (except for an 80 minute initial session). Premarital sessions are usually either in 1 or 2 hour increments.

How often will we meet?

This one depends on your goals, needs, schedule and budget! Most clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust to less frequent as time goes on. However, please know this is not a requirement, as each person’s budget and availability varies! The premarital package includes 6 hours of counseling and can be broken up into 1 or 2 hour increments.

What is your fee and do you accept insurance?

You can view my rates here. I am a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

What is your approach to counseling?

I take a warm and compassionate, strengths-based approach. I am trained in EMDR, trauma informed, and enjoy a relational dynamic with clients. My premarital sessions typically use Prepare/Enrich as a guideline and include practical tools and resources to start your marriage on a strong foundation.

What should we expect from premarital counseling?

Premarital counseling covers key topics like communication, conflict resolution, finances, family background, intimacy, and spirituality. It's a space to build a strong foundation for your marriage and can be a great preventative tool for couples, even if it feels like there are no big holes or gaps relationally.
